Simon is our Youth and Children's Pastor, He is married to Theresa and has two children called Lewis and Scarlett. Simon joined FBC in April 2010 from Grosvenor Church in Barnstaple where he was the Youth and Children's Pastor there for 11 years, before that he was the Youth Pastor at Bedworth Christian Centre. He has led many youth overseas missions plus has baptised over 300 young people. Simon loves football, golf and tackling Jim and Chris at football training!
Sarah Williamson - FBC Café Manager.
Sarah has been Catering Manager at a children's nursery and an outdoor activity centre in Scotland. Sarah loves chocolate muffins, running and climbing mountains (but not necessarily in that order!).
Richard Devereux - FBC Centre Facilities Manager.
Richard joined the FBC staff at the end of 2010. He is married with three children and has lived in Wokingham for more than 20 years.
The role of Facilities Manager encompasses all aspects of looking after the Centre – staff, church members, customers, bookings, equipment and, of course, the building itself. Richard describes it as “a little like looking after your own house only on a much bigger scale ... and with customers!” He worked for over 20 years as an IT professional and now also looks after the IT at FBC.
Richard is a qualified Basketball Coach and has coached in the Premier League in England with Thames Valley Tigers, Reading Rockets and Hemel Royals including finals at Wembley Arena, MEN Arena Manchester, Sheffield Arena, Birmingham NIA ... and european games in Iceland!
He is currently coaching around 8 hours a week in local schools as well as running his own junior club based at the FBC on Fridays.
Marlene Chalmers - Church Administrator.
Marlene is married to Bruce and has 2 children - Caylie and Matthew. She was born in South Africa but moved to the UK in 2001 and had been a member of Finchampstead Baptist Church for over 9 years. Marlene attends BSF on Wednesday mornings, is a regular helper with kids Sparkler group on Sunday mornings and is part of the Welcoming committee on a Sunday.
Cheryl Weir - Reception Coordinator.
Cheryl joined the FBC Centre staff in 2011. As well as being on the Reception desk to welcome visitors she also helps co-ordinate the volunteers and assist with the bookings.
Durban, South Africa, Cheryl moved with her husband, Ron, to live in the UK in 2008

Jamie Walker - Sports and Community Outreach Worker.
Jamie is married to Amy and has recently moved to the local area from sunny Portsmouth. A Sports Science graduate from Coventry University, Jamie loves sporting activity in all shapes and sizes but in particlar he enjoys football and cricket. Jamie is loving his job!!
Rachel Barlow - Centre Accountant.
Rachel is married to John and they have 3 children called Nathan, Ellen and Lucy. Before joining the FBC team in 2014, she worked for M&S for 7 years as an accountant. Rachel enjoys playing hockey, running, reading, cooking and socialising with friends.
Rachel Roberts - Guest Services
Rachel moved to Finchampstead in 2000 and has been a member of FBC ever since. Rachel heads up the Guest Services team who are responsible for ensuring all visitors to the Centre feel welcome! She has particular responsibility for our Sunday morning programme.
When not at the Centre, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and tries to stay fit and healthy!
Debbie Jones - Youth & Children's Coordinator.
Debbie lives in Finchampstead with Alex and they have been blessed with Zach who attends Gorse Ride Junior School.Debbie enjoys her position here at FBC and works as part of a Youth and Children's team with Simon and Louise.
Jim Gallagher - Staff Team Leader.
Jim is married to Karen, father to Megan, Lewis and Carrie and father-in-law to Dave. Having worked for a international healthcare company for 17 years, Jim retired from corporate life in 2004 and now spends part of his time at FBC. He is also a trustee of Lead Academy, an organisation that FBC works with that helps churches across the country to fulfil their God given mission. He has been part of FBC since 1996 and is passionate about the local church making a difference in the community and showing Jesus' love in all that they do. He loves skiiing and playing golf and, even at his age, he still plays football.
Louise Simpkins - Children's & Family Worker
Louise is married to Chris and they have two children Leah and Malachi. Louise has been part of FBC since 2008. Louise has a degree in Applied Community and Youth Studies from Derby University. She has worked with young parents, as a youth worker, and in a few other roles too, including leading parent and toddler groups for nearly 10 years! She loves making toddler crafts, especially those with glitter!
